Celebrating the Life of Andrea Key

Join us at the Alhambra Studio Morley Street Bradford on Thursday 24th May 2012 when we celebrate the life of Andrea Key.  We thought that it would be fitting to celebrate both Andrea’s life and the legacy she left behind in Andrea’s Gift and Brain Tumour Research and Support across Yorkshire (BTRS) in the 10 years since Andrea died from a brain tumour, by doing the things she loved – great music, comedy and dancing!

Hosting your evening of entertainment in the style of a Jane McDonald tribute is outstanding vocalist Hayley J. Exceptional male vocalist Johnny Dee performs a fantastic tribute to the music legend Neil Diamond and the hilarious comedian Terry Devon will have you rolling with laughter! A rock ‘n’ roll demonstration (a favourite pastime of Andrea’s) by Graham Bennett and a final disco dance spot completes an evening to remember.

Tickets are £8 each and available from the Alhambra Box Office on 01274 432 000.

Doors open at 7.00pm performance begins 7.30pm

Please Note – This is an endurance event and appropriate training MUST be undertaken and the organisers recommend that all participants cycle a distance of 80+ miles in one ride prior to the event.

There will be limited space to pick up riders who abandon en-route.  If you do abandon, we will get you back to Wetherby, or to a train station, but you may have to wait some time for transport and priority will be given to riders who are forced to abandon due to injury.

There will one start time for the cyclists:

0700 for 0730  Riders will aim to get to Scarborough for 13:00.

Meeting Point:
Meet at the Riverside Car Park – all day car parking is free. The car park is by the river, on the A1 side of the town centre. From Leeds, follow signs for Wetherby, A661.  As you arrive in Wetherby you will see a mini roundabout and on the right, there is a pub called the George & Dragon.   Go around the roundabout and follow the car park signs next to the pub; it is quite a narrow lane.  It drops down into an open car park by the river. Any problems, please call Carol on 0791 888 2816.

Refreshments:
Please carry refreshments, especially water/juice and some high energy food (cereal bars are good) there will be a refreshment stop at the top of Bulmer Bank on the way out and on the way back where cereal bars, chocolate and water will be provided.

Tools:
Everyone must carry spare inner tubes and basic tools to change tyres should anyone puncture or have a minor repair that needs carrying out.

Turnaround Point:
Head for Marine Drive, past Peasholm Park and drop to the sea front.  The halfway point will be close to the coach/bus turning circle.  There are a few shops, a supermarket and a fish and chip bar within close reach.

Supporters:
If you have supporters coming with you, they will be very welcome to cheer us on and join us at any of the meeting points.  If anyone is able to lend support and follow the groups through to Scarborough, please let me know, it would be gratefully appreciated.
